Hiking routes near Valencia for the whole family<\/h2>\n

The interior of the Community of Valencia, and the province of Valencia in particular, has a great natural wealth that can be explored by hiking on routes that are suitable for all levels of ability. Great natural landscapes, an exceptional cultural heritage and amazing mountain formations, crossed by prominent rivers such as the X\u00faquer, the Turia or the Cabriel.<\/p>\n

But that is not all,\u00a0Valencia has many natural pools<\/a>, waterfalls and the history of ancient civilisations. All this and more can be found just a few kilometres from the city. Take a look at the following walking routes in Valencia! We are sure you will enjoy each one.<\/p>\n

Walk with children through the hanging bridges of Chulilla<\/h3>\n

This excursion of just 10 kilometres and 300 metres in altitude is ideal for children. The route begins in the town of Chulilla, very close to Valencia, and allows you to enjoy the impressive viewpoints that overlook the Turia River canyon.<\/p>\n

The route continues in a gentle descent until it reaches the Municipal Nature Reserve of Los Calderones, where it crosses a deep gorge with walls over 80 metres high. This is where the first 21-metre bridge begins, suspended 15 metres above the river. The route takes you to the Loriguilla reservoir, created by the workers who built the dam in the 1950s, also known as the Pantaneros route. Enjoy the magnificent views and a unique experience!<\/p>\n

Historical journey through the Roman aqueduct of Pe\u00f1a Cortada (Calles)<\/h3>\n

Immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of Los Serranos on this 9-kilometre route with a 300-metre difference in altitude, starting in the municipality of Calles. Discover the Roman aqueduct of Pe\u00f1a Cortada, a jewel that passes through Tu\u00e9jar, Chelva, Calles and Dome\u00f1o. At 28.6 kilometres long, the most spectacular section is in Calles, with two monumental bridges that span the Rambla de Alcotas and the Barranco de la Cueva del Gato. The latter, the best preserved, has three arches and a maximum height of 18 metres.<\/p>\n

On this low-to-medium-difficulty excursion, where you have to be careful where you put your feet, you will pass through tunnels dug out of the rock and illuminated by natural light, a Roman aqueduct, a wooden walkway and a cut-out rock.<\/p>\n

Marvel at Anna’s three waterfalls<\/h3>\n

The main difficulty of this route is the slippery parts, so it is recommended to use good walking shoes. The route, which is 3 kilometres long and 100 metres high, takes about two hours to complete. It starts in Anna and runs along the banks of the Anna River, taking us to a magical place full of tropical vegetation and spectacular waterfalls.<\/p>\n

The Cascada del Salto, 25 metres high, is the highlight of the route and is a favourite with canyoning enthusiasts. Although the route is short, it does involve some steep passes and small climbs, but the experience is well worth it.<\/p>\n

Hiking near Valencia: River charm on the Chelva Water Route<\/h3>\n

If you are looking for hiking routes in Valencia with children, La Ruta del Agua will take you between springs and fountains of crystal-clear water. It is a circular excursion that combines nature, culture and rest areas during the two hours of duration.
